UCLinks Cosmic Dimension After-School Computer Club

The Cosmic Dimension After-School Computer Club serves children in Grades 2-5 at Wilson Elementary, a school located in an underserved low-income area of Costa Mesa. Supported by a well-established partnership between UCI and the Wilson community and school district, the club is designed to provide an imaginative, informal learning environment where university undergraduate volunteers can work with children in order to facilitate the children’s skill development in technology, English language reading and writing, critical thinking, and the general academic readiness they need to be successful in school. Undergraduate volunteers develop skills in mentoring, motivating, and teaching children.
