Biography

I received a BS in Physiological Science from UCLA in 2005. While at UCLA, I also had a three-year internship with the Sports Medicine Department as a student athletic trainer.

After graduating, I worked for the YMCA of Orange County as a Physical Education Specialist and then as a Associate Executive Director of Health and Wellness. During my career at the YMCA, I worked with elementary schools in Santa Ana and Fullerton, training classroom teachers how to teach physical education. I also supervised various after-school physical activity programs. While I worked at the YMCA, I also completed a MS in Kinesiology (emphasis in youth physical activity programming) at CSU Fullerton.

My research interests include youth involvement in out-of-school activities (in particular opportunities for physical activity) and the social development of youth involved in these activities.
