Awarded E(2) Energy to Educate Grant from Constellation Energy

Department of Education Assistant Professor Rebecca Black and Information and Computer Sciences Associate Professor Bill Tomlinson have been awarded a E(2) Energy to Educate grant from Constellation Energy in support of their work on the "Causality Project". Constellation Energy awarded 14 E(2) Energy to Educate grants in 2011 to support hands-on projects that enhance student understanding of the science and technology needed to address energy issues.

University of California Irvine Energy Causality Project Description

Under the guidance of the project PIs, 300 students will work in interdisciplinary teams to learn about energy technologies, the environmental impacts of various energy systems, and how these systems relate to their own lives. Students will create causation relationships through on-line tools and create videos to look at their own actions and to explore the interactions and causal effects of behaviors and the energy supply chain.
