UC Irvine Masters Golf Tournament Scholarship

The UCI Golf Program and UCI Dept. of Education collaborate to raise scholarship money to award to four teacher candidates who will be selected based on financial need and their commitment to serving in high-need schools. The scholarship money will be raised at the UCI Masters Golf Tournament, which will be held at the Coto De Caza Country Club in Rancho Santa Margarita.

The UCI Dept. of Education scholarship committee will select 4 students, two multiple subject candidates and two single subject candidates, to receive a $500-$1,000 (depending upon tournament proceeds) award. Selection will be made according to the following criteria:

  • Strength of commitment to teaching in a high-need school
  • Financial need
  • Quality of writing

Please submit an application along with a two to three page essay (double-spaced) briefly indicating the nature and extent of your current financial challenges and discuss you intentions with regard to teaching at-risk students.

The Masters Golf Tournament will take place sometime in November, with a specific date to be posted soon. Dispersement of funds will take place in December.
