Dissertation Defense

As described in the Dissertation section, the dissertation will present original research on a significant issue or issues related to educational leadership. It will demand the application of the candidate's knowledge of one or more research methodologies. The Dissertation Committee will conduct a final oral examination during which the candidate defends the dissertation. The dissertation defense will address the theoretical and conceptual background, relevant literature, data collection techniques, data analysis strategies, and results and implications concerning the question(s) studied. The dissertation will be required to meet all University requirements regarding style, format, and appearance. The vote to approve the dissertation must be unanimous, with the support of all four members of the Dissertation Committee, the two members from UCI, and the two members from CSU.
