EDAD 701: Organizational Theory: Organization and Administration of Higher Education: Functions and Issues
The principle focus of this course is to introduce students to organizational analysis and change with an emphasis on multiple frames through which organizations can be understood and democratically led. Through this course, participants will be able to combine theory with practice (praxis) in improving their knowledge and skills related to leading and working in more effective, equitable, and humane organizations.

EDAD 690: Special Topics in Research and Evaluation for Urban Educational Leadership
This course is a thorough introduction to quantitative research methods for urban educational leadership; topics include research in the areas of principal leadership and school performance, educational leadership and student achievement, organizational learning and change, and school governance and culture. The course aims to develop quantitative research skills for urban educational leaders who are committed to issues of diversity, who are from traditionally underrepresented social membership groups themselves based on race, ethnicity, socioeconomic class, first language, gender, sexuality, and/or physical ability, and who are currently employed in an urban educational leadership capacity.

GED 700: Field Research in Educational Technology
This is the first in a series of two qualitative research courses whereby students complete a small-scale qualitative research study. This course provides and overview of the foundations, assumptions, methods, techniques and ethics of qualitative research along with a framework for evaluating qualitative studies. Students identify an area of focus, design, and begin a small-scale qualitative study geared to enhance technology based learning and/or human performance in an educational setting.
