Community College Students
The need to increase the number of highly qualified secondary math and science teachers to educate future generations of world leaders has become a national movement! Cal Teach welcomes community college students that have an interest in exploring the field of teaching science or mathematics at the secondary level.
The Cal Teach Program offers a series of fieldwork based courses to expose students to the issues and rewards faced by teachers at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. Community college students may enroll in Cal Teach courses by filing an SB 1914 Cross-Enrollment Authorization Form.
Most commonly, students will major in one of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics [STEM] majors such us biology, chemistry, physics, math, computer science, engineering, or earth science. However, Undecided/ Undeclared students as well as students in a non-STEM major who may be looking to obtain a credential to teach math or science are also welcome to join the Cal Teach program.
