Mentor Teachers
Mentor Teachers play an integral role in the development of our undergraduate students in their pursuit of a career in science or math teaching. The Cal Teach fieldwork placements allow students to put into practice what they are learning in their respective courses.
Students typically spend 5-10 hours a week working in their fieldwork placements. During this time, they participate in different aspects of teaching, from taking roll to leading warm-ups, to working one-on-one to even presenting lessons.
Cal Teach students benefit from the communal effort of Cal Teach advisors, instructors, peers and mentor teachers as they explore the field of teaching.
