About Us
The California Teach Science-Math Initiative believes in creating a supportive community of future science and math teachers by providing advising and support services, academic courses, and most importantly ongoing pre-service teaching experiences with local K-12 teachers to introduce UCI students to the profession of teaching.
Our undergraduates are exposed to classroom experiences and challenges that encourage them to develop the decision-making skills, leadership ability, teaching strategies and good judgment necessary to become effective and successful models in the classroom.
Our undergraduates are supported by their department academic advisors, Cal Teach advisors, Cal Teach course instructors, K-12 Mentor Teachers and peers to ensure they successfully complete each step on their way to pursuing and attaining their teaching credential.
