Credential Alumni Publishes Children's Book: Nutter the Survivor

Educator Jeannine Thomas, 2009 Alumna of the UC Irvine Teacher Credential Program, has published her first children's book in a series through Tate Publishing and Enterprises: Nutter the Survivor.  

The text champions pet adoption and animal rescue. Ms. Thomas explains, "Nutter the Survivor has learning tasks in the back so K-5 readers may be entertained as well as educated." 

Nutter the Survivor launched in bookstores nationwide on Feb. 15th and is available on Amazon.com.

Ms. Thomas is currently visiting schools doing large events for K-5 on various topics including the value of pet adoption and animal rescue, the value of being a survivor and having a positive attitude in life, editing, art direction, and the work ethic and discipline it takes to attempt to make dreams a reality.

NUTTER BUTTER LITTLE MUNCHER WUTTER PUPPER doesn’t like life in her small cage. The ol’ ogre is grumpy and doesn’t take good care of her, and she wants to know life beyond the cage. When one day she finally escapes, she realizes just how different she is—she has big feet, no teeth, and crinkly ears. She’s not like other dogs at all. But she is confident in herself, and her newfound friends soon understand why Nutter is a Survivor.

Author Jeannine Thomas lives in Southern California, where she teaches elementary school. This book is a tribute to her support of pet adoption and the exceptional work of all animal rescue agencies.
