The MAT program is a rigorous, 15 month, academic program combining masters degree coursework with student teaching. The goal is to provide future teachers with deep knowledge and mastery for planning, implementing and assessing effective teaching. UCI MAT graduates are prepared to make a difference in their classrooms and schools.

UCI MAT graduates report that the degree provides them with cutting-edge and specialized knowledge and skills that are valued by their employers. UCI MAT graduates are recognized as teacher leaders.
UCI MAT graduates are invited to return to UCI to participate in alumni events. Membership in the UCI Alumni Association affords a lifetime of contacts with other UCI Anteaters, access to library resources, continuing education courses, and sporting and cultural events. Join the UCI MAT program for a lifetime of learning, networking and fun.
