All students need and have the right to a strong science education to prepare them for science literacy and to provide
pathways to the science professions. UCI offers an outstanding single subject credential program for teaching in the
sciences in grades 7-12.
Science teaching credentials are available at UCI in the following areas:
- Biology/Life Science (including General Science)
- Biology Specialized
- Chemistry (including General Science)
- Chemistry Specialized
- Earth Science (including General Science)
- Earth Science Specialized
- Physics (including General Science)
- Physics Specialized
Hands-on, inquiry-based science learning is the foundation for genuine understanding
