Program Advising
Find out why this is one of the most
popular minors on campus. Faculty bring the study of education
to life as they explore current educational issues, theories, and practices.
Aspiring teachers obtain a solid foundation of understanding about human
development and cognition, and practices for teaching and learning in different
subject areas. Students who are considering graduate study enhance their
understanding of social science inquiry applied to the field of education.
All students gain practical experience through PreK-12 fieldwork and research in
educational settings.
Are you still wondering if a Minor in Educational Studies is for you?
Browse the program requirements

descriptions. Talk to a program advisor about
getting started and recommendations for classes that will suit your particular
interests.
While completing a Minor in Educational Studies does not lead directly to a
California K-12 Teaching Credential (see the Teacher
Credential or Master of Arts in Teaching
sections of this website), UCI undergraduates can enhance their preparation for a
teacher credential program through the choice of appropriate undergraduate
classes. Selected undergraduate education courses provide an early start
toward satisfying some state requirements for a California teaching
credential.
